Hello families!

News: Jarrod has filmed a sing along! Check it out here: you can send your requests for next time, there will be another in two weeks!

Patterns Week 2:

Focus for the week:

  • Offering children tactile experiences where they experience differing attributes, while teachers narrate the experience (offering children a chance to hold a heavy rock, describing the different attributes of shape blocks, etc.)

Activity: Textures are a great category for developing descriptive language and noticing attributes. Connecting to what’s around them, like clothing, furniture, or plants, can be a way to bring mindful noticing into the day. Today you can try feeling different textures and deciding if they feel soft or not soft.

Today’s Video: Today on Zoom Teacher Maddie sorts materials into what feels soft and what doesn’t feel soft (Is it rough? Scratchy? Hard?)

Warmly,

Oak Teachers
